La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción está localizada en la Plaza Mayor. La iglesia se inauguró el año 1958, ya que la original del siglo XVI fue destruida en la quema de 1936 durante la Guerra Civil Española.
Se trata de una iglesia de tres naves con predominio de la central y a ambos lados presenta capillas. En la parte izquierda, con forma semicircular, se encuentra la capilla del Santísimo donde se encuentra la imagen de Ntra. Sra. de Villajos, una talla en madera del siglo XIII, hallada en un muro durante la restauración del Santuario del Stmo. Cristo de Villajos, patrono del pueblo.
Lo más llamativo de ella es la bóveda vaída del crucero y en el exterior su elevada torre. Tiene un estilo ecléctico, mezcla de diversas influencias, entre las que destaca la clasicista, vigente en la arquitectura española posterior a la última guerra civil.
Hay una talla representativa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (titular de la iglesia), en su subida al cielo, bajo la Santísima Trinidad.
En su interior, además de las vidrieras de los extremos del crucero, que representan a Santo Tomás de Villanueva y a San Juan de Ávila, son de interés dos tallas escultóricas en madera, la llamada Virgen de Villajos ,mencionada anteriormente, y la del Cristo de la Expiración, esta última de Juan Cristóbal, artista del siglo XX. Así mismo, merecen la atención del visitante las pinturas que decoran el altar mayor.

The Parish Church of Our Lady of Asunción is located in the Main Square. The church was inaugurated in 1958, because the original one from the XVI century was destroyed in the burning of 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.
It is a church with three parts with the predominance of the central one, which has chapels in both sides. On the left-hand side, with semicircular shape, the chapel of the Holy Sacrament, where the image of Our Lady of Villajos is located, a wooden carving from the XIII century that was found in one wall during the restoration of the shrine of the Saint Christ of Villajos, who is the patron saint of the town.
The most striking thing is the vault and the high tower. The church has an eclectic style. It is a mixture of a lot of influences, with some classic influences, prevailing in Spain since the Civil War.
There is a representative wood carving of Our Lady of La Asunción, her ascent to Heaven, under the Divine Trinity.
Inside, in addition of the stained glasses that represent Santo Tomas de Villanueva and San Juan de Ávila, there are two more important figures made of wood, the Virgin of Villajos, mentioned before, and the Expiration Christ, whose author is Juan Cristóbal, artist from the XX century. The paintings from the higher altar are very important, too.
